Students at Graham Road Elementary are actively involved in making music in a comprehensive music curriculum established by Fairfax County Public Schools and the Virginia Music Standards of Learning.

In addition to music-making with classroom teachers, head start students receive one 30-minute lesson per week in general music class instruction with a music specialist. Kindergarten through 6th grade students receive two 30-minute music classes each week. Upper elementary students have the added option of participating in band or string instrument instruction and the Graham Road Chorus. Students who participate in these ensembles perform in concerts each year.

After school each week, the Graham Road Percussion Ensemble meet to rehearse. The Percussion Ensemble is a select group of 4th-6th grade student musicians that plays music for Orff instruments.

Music is taught by Mr. Jake Harkins.
